Raf, one of Italy’s most acclaimed singer-songwriters and a pioneer of Italian pop, will compete among the Big Artists at the 76th Sanremo Festival in 2026. This marks his fifth appearance at the iconic event.

With a career spanning 40 years, 14 studio albums, and over 20 million records sold worldwide, Raf has written and performed songs that have shaped the history of Italian music. His catalogue includes timeless international and national hits such as Self Control, Infinito, Sei la più bella del mondo, Il battito animale, Cosa resterà degli anni ’80, Ti pretendo, Stai con me, and Non è mai un errore — songs loved across generations and still sung today.
Raf previously competed at Sanremo in four editions:
1988 – Inevitabile follia
1989 – Cosa resterà degli anni ’80
1991 – Oggi un Dio non ho
2015 – Come una favola
In 1987, he co-wrote the Festival’s winning song Si può dare di più together with Umberto Tozzi and Giancarlo Bigazzi, performed by Gianni Morandi, Enrico Ruggeri, and Umberto Tozzi.
Raf is currently on tour celebrating 40 years of career and 40 years of Self Control, with multiple sold-out dates in theatres across Italy.
