Umberto Tozzi was born in Turin on March 4, 1952, and has sold over 80 million records worldwide. He first gained recognition as a songwriter, writing for Mina, Mia Martini, Fausto Leali, Riccardo Fogli, Marcella Bella, Wess, and Dori Ghezzi (for whom he wrote "Un corpo e un'anima," the song that won Canzonissima in 1974), before launching his solo career. Within a few years, he produced hits like "Ti Amo" and "Gloria," which was covered by Laura Branigan in 1984, bringing Tozzi's name across the ocean. Active since 1968, Umberto Tozzi has released 20 studio albums and 6 live albums, won the Festivalbar in 1977 with "Ti Amo" and in 1994 with "Io muoio di te," and the Sanremo Festival in 1987 with "Si può dare di più" alongside Gianni Morandi and Enrico Ruggeri. He also placed third at the Eurofestival with "Gente di Mare," a duet with Raf.

Following the release of his new album "Quarant’anni che ‘TI AMO’" in 2017, the Turin singer-songwriter embarked on a sold-out tour across Italy, culminating in the "40 Anni Che Ti Amo" concert event at the Verona Arena, featuring many guests, including Raf, with whom he decided to collaborate again and tour the major Italian sports arenas and theaters.

Umberto Tozzi was a special guest at the Sanremo Festival in 2019 and 2021.
