Passionate about rock and electronic music, THE KOLORS (officially: Antonio Stash Fiordispino on vocals and guitar, Alex Fiordispino on drums, and Dario Iaculli on bass) began collaborating in Milan in 2009, the year they also got their first professional gig, becoming the resident band of one of the city's longest-running and best-known venues: Le Scimmie. Their name began to grow within Milan's underground club scene, and in 2011, they produced the original track “I Don’t Give A Funk,” which entered the MTV New Generation playlist with a video featuring their friend Andy from Bluvertigo. Their live performances led them to some international dates in Stockholm, Berlin, and London, before returning to Italy to open for the Italian concerts of Paolo Nutini (July 2012), Gossip (November 2012), Hurts (March 2013), and performing as special guests for the Rome date of Atoms For Peace (June 2013).
In 2015, they won the TV show “Amici,” also taking home the critics' award. In May of the same year, they released the album “Out” (featuring collaborations with Elisa and Mace), which reached the top of Italy’s best-selling albums chart, staying there for 12 consecutive weeks (a record), and earning five Platinum records.
The success of the album was driven by the single “Everytime,” a platinum-certified track that was one of the most played on Italian radio and was chosen as the soundtrack for Vodafone commercials.
From July to September, THE KOLORS toured all over Italy with a SOLD OUT tour, also performing at the Open Air Theatre of Expo 2015 in front of more than 10,000 spectators. They were nominated for Best Italian Act at the 2015 MTV European Music Awards and graced the cover of the Italian edition of Rolling Stone.
In May 2017, they released “YOU,” a new album recorded in London and preceded by the first single “What happened Last Night” featuring Gucci Mane. The track also boasted collaborations with former Oasis and Beady Eye members Andy Bell and Gem Archer. The technical part of the album also saw contributions from Tommaso Colliva (Muse) and Mark “Spike” Stent with his team (Ed Sheeran, Beyoncé, One Republic).
In February 2018, THE KOLORS participated for the first time in the Sanremo Festival with their first original Italian song, “Frida (mai, mai, mai).” This was followed by an intense live activity, where the band excelled. This was followed by the single “Come le onde,” in which they duet with J-Ax. In March 2019, they signed their first major record deal (Island Records/ Universal Music Records) and on March 15, 2019, they released the single “Pensare male,” a duet with Elodie which quickly became a hit both on the radio (becoming the most played Italian song on the radio in 2019) and digitally (Platinum record with over 50 million views). The year 2019 ended with another original track, this time in collaboration with Guè Pequeno, titled “Los Angeles,” also well-received by the radio.
Eight months later, in May 2020, they released the single “Non è vero,” which became a radio hit, followed in January 2021 by the original track “Mal di Gola,” and in April by “Cabriolet Panorama,” which became one of the most played hits on the radio that year. Other singles followed, including “Leoni al Sole” written with Tommaso Paradiso and Dardust (2021) and “Blackout” (2022).
In April 2023, The Kolors signed a new record deal with WARNER MUSIC ITALY, and released the single “ITALODISCO” which held the No.1 spot on the FIMI chart for 11 weeks, with 134 million streams, four times Platinum in Italy, as well as in Switzerland and Poland. “ITALODISCO” was one of the most Shazamed tracks in the world in 2023, with over 45 million views on YouTube.
On November 10, 2023, the band announced a special event on April 3, 2024, “The Kolors Forum” at the Forum of Assago – Milan. This announcement was followed by the announcement of a concert at the Auditorium Parco della Musica Cavea on June 20, 2024.
On December 3, 2023, Amadeus confirmed the band’s participation in the 74th Sanremo Italian Song Festival.
